By accessing the website, submitting a contact form, requesting information, subscribing to communications, or otherwise engaging with us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
If you do not agree with the practices described here, please do not use the website or submit information to us.

- Your full name
- Email address
- Telephone number (when provided)
- Practice type (e.g., CPA firm, EA / tax-only, mixed practice, advisory)
- Approximate client count and revenue range
- Desired exit or succession timeline
- Free-text notes, comments, or details you choose to share about your practice or goals
- Any additional information you voluntarily provide in subsequent communications
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- Internet protocol (IP) address and approximate geographic location
- Browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
- Referring URL, pages visited, time spent, and click activity
- Date and time of access
- Information collected via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7)
2.3 Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from third-party sources, including marketing platforms, professional networks, business directories, referral partners, and analytics providers, where such providers are permitted to share information with us under their own privacy terms.
03 How We Use Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiry and provide information about our advisory services, succession planning, valuations, and buyer-matching capabilities.
- To deliver our services, including practice valuation, confidential buyer search, transaction advisory, and ongoing engagement communications.
- To send marketing and educational communications — including newsletters, market updates, and information about relevant resources — where you have provided consent or where the communication is otherwise permitted by law (see Section 4).
- To match you with prospective buyers from our vetted network, but only after you have signed an engagement agreement and explicitly authorized us to share identifying details.
- To improve and operate the website, measure engagement, troubleshoot issues, and develop new features or content.
- To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect our rights, property, and safety, and that of our clients and the public.
04 Email & Marketing Communications
Succession Pathway sends two categories of email communication:
4.1 Transactional emails
These include responses to your inquiry, scheduling confirmations, engagement-related correspondence, and other communications necessary to deliver the services you have requested. These messages are sent regardless of marketing preferences and cannot be separately unsubscribed from while an active conversation or engagement is ongoing.
4.2 Marketing emails
We send periodic newsletters, market commentary, educational content, valuation insights, event invitations, and other promotional communications. We send marketing emails only to recipients who have:
- Submitted a form on our website indicating their interest in receiving such communications, and
- Affirmatively opted in to receive marketing communications (typically via a checkbox on the contact form), or
- Otherwise consented to receive marketing communications from us under applicable law.
4.3 CAN-SPAM Act compliance
All commercial email communications sent by Succession Pathway comply with the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act and its implementing regulations. Specifically:
- We accurately identify the sender and the commercial nature of the message.
- We do not use false or misleading subject lines or header information.
- We include a valid physical postal address in every commercial email.
- We include a clear and conspicuous mechanism to unsubscribe in every commercial email.
- We honor unsubscribe requests within ten (10) business days, and typically within twenty-four (24) hours.
4.4 Unsubscribe
You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email or by emailing info@successionpathway.com with the subject line "Unsubscribe." After unsubscribing, you will no longer receive marketing communications, but you may continue to receive transactional emails related to any active engagement or inquiry.
05 Phone & SMS Communications
When you provide a telephone number through our website, you authorize Succession Pathway to contact you at that number — including by voice call, voicemail, and, where you have separately consented, by text message (SMS) — in connection with your inquiry or any subsequent engagement.
We comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA") and analogous state laws. We do not use automated telephone dialing systems or pre-recorded marketing voice messages to contact you without your prior express written consent. Standard message and data rates may apply to any SMS communications. You may opt out of phone or SMS communications at any time by replying "STOP" to any message or by emailing info@successionpathway.com.
08 Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted transmission (TLS), restricted access controls, vendor due diligence, and standard industry practices for confidential commercial information.
No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is one hundred percent secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any credentials you use to access our services.
09 Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide our services, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Inquiry records and related correspondence are typically retained for the duration of any active relationship plus an additional retention period required by applicable record-keeping rules and statutes of limitation. Marketing list records are retained until you unsubscribe and for a reasonable period thereafter for suppression and compliance purposes.
10 Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights with respect to your personal information, which may include:
- Access. Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion. Request that we delete your personal information, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
- Opt-out of marketing. Withdraw consent to receive marketing communications at any time.
